SASSA payment dates for October 2026
SASSA has confirmed that social grants for October 2026 will be paid over the first week of the month, in this order:
- Older Persons Grants: Friday, 2 October 2026.
- Disability Grants: Monday, 5 October 2026.
- Children's Grants (Child Support, Foster Child and Care Dependency): Tuesday, 6 October 2026.
- Beneficiaries selected for grant reviews or life certification: Wednesday, 7 October 2026.
- SRD grant: paid between 25 and 30 October 2026 for approved applications.
Money paid into your account stays there. There is no need to rush to a pay point or ATM on the first day.
Why are SASSA grants paid on different days?
Paying millions of grants on a single day would create long queues and put pressure on pay points and ATMs. Splitting the payments by grant type spreads the demand across several days.
Why is the Disability Grant paid after the Older Persons Grant?
